Martin Watson, CEO
Martin is the founder and CEO for SeeChange Health. With a passion for changing the health care industry for the better, Martin has successfully built several start-up organizations, prior to launching SeeChange Health and is considered an innovation leader for the industry. His extensive industry experience includes serving as senior vice president of strategy for United Healthcare’s product division and vice president of e-business for Aetna International. Martin earned his BA at Beloit College in Beloit, WI. Martin is an Advisory Council member for the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, is an Investment Advisor for Matchpoint Partners and has been recognized by Goldman Sachs as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs.
Daniel Boivin, Chief Legal Officer
Dan is responsible for legal, regulatory, network, and human resource functions for SeeChange Health. Previously, Dan was an attorney and partner for 26 years with a major Minneapolis law firm. He is the former chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association Civil Litigation Council. Dan’s community involvement includes an appointment by the Governor as Chairman of the Metropolitan Airports Commission overseeing the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport. Dan has been involved with the pro bono representation of disadvantaged persons, acting as a volunteer judge for the Minnesota State High School Mock Trial Tournament, participation in the Minnesota Legislative Economic Loss Doctrine Task Force, and the Minneapolis Charter Commission.
Christopher Chang, Chief Information Officer
Christopher is responsible for SeeChange Health's value-based benefit technology platform and all technology efforts across the company. Prior to joining SeeChange Health, Christopher worked for a number of large national and global IT consulting companies. Christopher has repeatedly led complex, large scale IT projects to successful completion for Fortune 500 companies. As the chief technology officer for Micro Interactive, he helped grow the small, privately held company which provided high end customized multimedia solutions for companies such as IBM, Hilton Internal, NBC, and was ultimately acquired by IXL. Christopher is named in two technical patents on reusable application frameworks which was ultimately adopted by Microsoft's Patterns & Practices group.
Susan Cotton, Chief Marketing Officer
Susan has spearheaded the marketing efforts for leading health care and financial services companies – serving as chief marketing officer for WellPoint and Cal Fed Bank and senior vice president, marketing for Bank of America and NationsBank. Prior to joining SeeChange Health, she served as an interim executive, developing and managing organizations during periods of transition and change. For SeeChange Health, Susan guides the marketing and communications strategy, planning and execution, including programs to encourage individuals to play an active role in the management of their own health to prevent, detect and treat today's most serious health conditions.
Mark Gastineau, Chief Operations Officer
Mark is responsible for the end to end operations for SeeChange Health. Mark's extensive industry experience includes serving as senior vice president of individual, small group and government businesses for Blue Shield of California where he was responsible for the overall management and performance of these businesses serving nearly one million Californians. Prior to Blue Shield of California, Mark served in a variety of roles at WellPoint, including general manager of UNICARE individual and small group, and vice president of UNICARE small group, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Mark is a member of The State Bar of California and was a certified public accountant.
Rod Grant, Vice President Sales, SeeChange Health Insurance
Rod has generated significant sales success throughout his twenty-year career in the insurance industry. He has held sales leadership positions within Prudential Healthcare, Anthem Blue Cross of California, Colonial Life and most recently served as the principal of Americana Insurance Services. Rod’s passion for positive changes in the health care industry continues to drive his sales success for SeeChange Health.
Vince Iantorno, Chief Underwriting Officer
Vince is responsible for all underwriting functions for SeeChange Health. Vince comes to SeeChange Health with a wealth of industry experience, primarily in group underwriting. As the regional vice president of underwriting for WellPoint, Vince oversaw all underwriting activities and operations for the western region. He established underwriting operations across the western states with proven underwriting results and outstanding service. As an industry consultant, Vince has helped established companies improve their services and underwriting results, as well as assisting startup ventures successfully begin operations.
Alan Katz, Executive Vice President
Alan has led sales teams to exceptional results for enterprises ranging from start-ups to publicly traded corporations. As a senior vice president at WellPoint his creative approach to sales and sales technology was instrumental in the company being named one of “America’s Top 25 Sales Forces” by Sales & Marketing Management magazine. Alan is also a highly respected speaker and writer on issues ranging from sales and marketing to strategic planning to health care reform. Alan is the author of Trailblazed: Proven Paths to Sales Success revealing the perspectives, processes, and procedures professional producers use to achieve substantial sales growth. He has served as president of both the California and National Associations of Health Underwriters (NAHU).
Jackie Macias, Chief Financial Officer
Jackie is responsible for all aspects of the accounting, finance, planning and treasury functions for SeeChange Health. In addition, she overseas all regulatory reporting and serves as liaison to regulatory agencies regarding all financial oversight matters. Jackie joins SeeChange Health with over fifteen years of experience in the health care industry, including responsibility for WellPoint's national Medicaid/CHIP business with almost two million members. Her experience also includes roles in finance, merger and acquisition integration, marketing, brand, product / service development, micromarket strategies, and operations. Prior to WellPoint, Jackie served a variety of financial roles in the defense manufacturing industry. Jackie has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Rutgers University, a Master of Science degree in taxation from American University and is currently pursuing her doctorate in the field of organizational leadership at Pepperdine. She also previously obtained designation as a Certified Public Accountant.
Sean Penwell, Chief Medical Officer
Sean joined SeeChange Health in 2012 with a commitment to making healthcare more affordable and a passion for health promotion. In this leadership role, Sean is responsible for overall clinical strategy, health policy, and product design with an emphasis on value-based insurance design. Prior to joining SeeChange Health, Sean was a resident in emergency medicine at UCLA Medical Center. He obtained his M.D. from Harvard Medical School where he took an interest in health policy. He is a Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholar and sits on the board of advisors for Mercy In Action, an NGO providing maternal and child health services in the developing world.
